Fly Fishing the Saluda River | South Carolina's Angling Oasis

By: Slab Dynasty

95-degree heat, palm trees, Spanish moss hanging from trees, and...an ice-cold river with trout, striper, and smallmouth bass??? Yep, this is the Saluda River. In this episode, the Slab Boys ventured down to the sweltering heat of SC to go fly fishing on what you could only call an absolute ANOMALY! Even in the brutal, humid heat of the SC summer, the tailrace water flowing out of the Lake Murray dam stays crystal clear and doesn't get too far above the mid-60s in temperature, supporting one of the most unique and unlikely fisheries in the country. After a failed morning attempt at the fickle trout that live there, the boys met up with a friend of the channel Mike to float down the beautiful Saluda, dodging weekend tubers and the party crowd while targeting striper and smallmouth on the fly. Watch until the end to see how it unfolds! THANKS FOR WATCHING! NEW EPISODES EVERY WEEK!
